GOV ABIODUN PROMISES OGUN RESIDENTS OF UNINTERUPTED POWER SUPPLY AT 35TH LISABI DAY CELEBRATION

 


The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun says his administration would soon be launching  it's 'Ogun Light Up Project that would ensure uninterrupted power supply for the people of the state.


Prince Dapo Abiodun who made this known during the 35th edition of the Lisabi Festival held at the amphitheater of the Ake Palace ground noted that the Ogun Light Up Project which would start from the state capital would help make the state capital the toast of investors in the country.

The Governor while emphasizing that the project would kickstart before the end of this year disclosed that his administration would continue to ensure that all inherited  projects left uncompleted by the past administration would be finished.

Speaking on the theme of the festival, “Youth Inclusiveness: An Emerging Reality in Socio Economic Development of Egbaland”, Governor Abiodun urged the people to avoid the ‘get rich quick syndrome’, especially among the youths, but rather inculcate the core values of hardwork, perseverance, diligence and all values which forms the embodiment of ‘Omoluwabi’.

Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed in his goodwill message said his office has taken proactive measures to address the issue of ritual killings and kidnapping among other vices in the country, noting that since youths remain the active generation of any nation, he has begun programs targeted at youths to curb these vices.

Represented by Funmi Wakama, the Minister commended the state Government for the attention given to Olumo Rock tourist site, encouraging the government to continue to explore more opportunities in other tourist sites the state is blessed with.  

In his submission, the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo said the involvement of youths in the developmental plan of any society is very key and the present administration in the State will continue to ensure the inclusiveness of the youths in all it's developmental plans and projects, adding that  this administration is an all inclusive government that would encourage its people especially the youths to be sucessful without cutting corners.


  "I  believe the youths should use their energy for positive achievements, peace, prosperity and yearnings for innovation, because Lisabi that we are remembering today fought for the people of EgbaLand, he depicts selflessness and service to humanity. Let us go back to what we believe in, the 'Omoluabi' in us, we should seek and live a life of assisting one another while seeking the progress of ourselves, the society and State at large," Taiwo admonished.

On his part, the host Monarch, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, HRM, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, appreciated the state Governor for being part of the festival and for embarking on developmental projects across the State, which is a reflection of the  fulfillment of all his promises  to the good people of the State.

Oba Gbadebo commended the sons and daughters of Egbaland for their moral and financial support as well as their large turnout at the festival, while advising the youths to shun the act of cultism and money rituals, rather engage themselves in entrepreneurial skills.

Dignitaries present at the festival were former Governor in Ogun State, Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba, Members of the State Executive Council, Royal fathers, Chiefs and different clubs and societies members in Egbaland.
