Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has commissioned a rural electrification project at Orile-Oko in Remo North Local Government Area after 17 years of total blackout.
Abiodun said the project which was facilitated by a lawmaker representing Remo North, Sagamu, and Ikenne Federal Constituency, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, was in fulfillment of the campaign promises made to the people of the community, assuring citizens of his administration’s continued efforts at ensuring even development of the State.
Governor Abiodun, represented by his deputy, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele noted that the electrification project was evidence of the mutually beneficial relationship between the State government and its representatives at the green chamber, urging the beneficiaries to make good use of it.
"At the inception of our administration in May 2019, we made a clear statement of our continued development of Ogun State. Our State is blessed with rich human resources both within and outside government which will foster sustainable development", he said.
Speaking earlier, the Wife of the Governor, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, commended Hon. Onanuga, for keeping to her electoral promises to the people of Orile-Oko, advising her not to relent in delivering more dividends of democracy to the people.
Also speaking, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, submitted that the era of unprecedented development has started in Orile- Oko community, calling for more amenities to improve the livelihood of the people.
In her remark, Hon. Onanuga said the constituency project was part of efforts to alleviate the yearnings of the community, lauding the present administration for its support.
