YEWA NORTH LG INAUGUTRATES SLG, CABINET MEMBERS

Secretary to the Local Government (SLG) and other Cabinet members of Yewa North Local Government have been inaugurated for simless running of the Secretariat and development of the Council Area.


The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi during the inauguration at the Local Government Secretariat, Ayetoro, called for support and encouragement of the cabinet members for a successful tenure, with a promise to deliver his best to serve the people.


He enjoined the newly inaugurated Secretary to the Local Government,  Mr Mathew Adeshi and other executive members to see their responsibilities as a call to service, a challenge to their integrity and a proof of their capability, soliciting the cooperation of both the legislative arms and the Career Staff to work in harmony for the development of the local government in general.

He also called on the people to show their support for his administration by performing their civic responsibilities through prompt payment of their taxes and levies to enable the Council deliver its intended developmental projects and other dividends of democracy. 


"We are in government to serve everybody regardless of any political affiliation, tribe or religion. We are to replicate the all inclusive and open door policy of the present administration in the State. Therefore, I want to invite other political parties to join hands with us for the overall development of the state", Ogunyomi stated.


Earlier in his welcome address, the Head of Local Government Administration, Alhaji Ayo Lemose, canvassed for unity among members of the cabinet with purposeful contributions that  would be beneficial to the generality of the people at the grassroots, admonishing them to remain focused, dedicated and eschew all forms of rancour.


While giving his acceptance speech, Secretary to the Local Government, Mr Mathew Adeshi pledged his unflinching support as well as other executive members to boost the Internally Generated Revenue of the Council as a way of getting out of the global economic crisis.


The sworn in executive members include Supervisory Councillor for Works and Housing, Mr. Sina Adegbenro, Supervisory Councillor for Health and Environmental, Mr Kamoru Olayemi, Supervisory Councillor for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mr Jelili Akinkunmi, Supervisory Councillor for Special Duties and Information, Education, Youth and Sports, as well as Supervisory Councillor for Community Development, Alhaji Jimoh Adegboyega.


Others in advisory executive members are, Mr Kudoro Babatunde and Ms Celina Oladipupo, Mrs Monsurat Kareem, while those in Consultant Executive Members are, Hon. Segun Oladodu, Mr. Ijidele Olabisi and Yusuf Falana.
