WORK TOGETHER FOR ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT- ABIODUN

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has stated that a town is bound to experience accelerated development when a King and his people work hand in hand to achieve a common goal.

Abiodun dropped the hint at the Installation and Presentation of Staff of Office and Instrument of Appointment to the newly crowned Onijoun of Ijoun, Oba Gabriel Ogunji, Arapotaliyewo 1, in Yewa North Local Government Area.

Governor Abiodun, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, said the present position of the Monarch and experiences he had gathered in the past should be used to mobilise his people in a manner that would complement the government’s initiatives for socio-economic development of Ijoun and Yewaland.

He called on the people of the town to accord the Monarch the needed cooperation to promote their cultural heritage and continue to work towards actualising the government policies and programmes.

“The present government will intensify efforts in meeting the aspirations of the people of Yewaland and Ogun State as a whole, as peace, unity, and cooperation from different quarters were needed for the good of the people”, the Governor assured.

In his welcome address, Executive Chairman in the Local Government, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyom congratulated the new Onijoun on his installation, promising the council’s readiness to support the town by giving more dividends of democracy to all and sundry.

On his part, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, represented by Onijale of Ijale-Ketu, Oba Bisiriyu Oyero urged the people to join hands with the new Onijoun, for rapid socio-economic development of the town.

In his acceptance speech, Oba Ogunji lauded the State government for approving his installation, soliciting the people’s support, understanding, and contributions that could move the town to greater heights.
