Ogun East Frontline Senatorial Aspirant and Special Assistant to the Minister of State for Education on Project, Engr. (Dr) Adewale Adenaike has charged youths in the state to shun all sort of vices that would tarnish their image and truncate their academic pursuits, instead they should be agent of change so that they can be useful for themselves and the nation at large.
Engr. Adewale Adenaike made this known in a telephone interview with Infopalavanews.com Correspondent today.
Engr.Adenaike said Nigerian youths who are seen as leaders of tomorrow are now engaged or allowed to be used for indiscriminate act which, to a large extent, has the potency to shatter their future ambition.
He said that it is quite disheartening that many youths due to laziness and get rich quick syndrome, now involve in armed robbery, money rituals, gangsterism, cultism, highway robbery and raping of minors adding that all these acts have become national issues which must be addressed before it is too late or degenerates into something worse.
"Vocational skills and crafts such as cobbling, beads making, fashion designing, make-up, cake making, and agriculture etc are ideas that sell fast in the Nigeria commercial system which youths and the unemployed can engaged in to better their lives and meet their needs rather than shortcut process." Adenaike said
According to him, Government alone cannot provide the wherewithal and that is why many graduates and the less privileged should endeavor to learn trades rather than constituting nuisance to the society because an idle hand is the devil's workshop.
Engr. Adenaike promised to provide more empowerment programmes to alleviate unemployment syndrome and engage idle youths if given the opportunity to represent the Ogun East Senatorial District at the Red Chambers.
