OGUN TO RESUSCITATE AWARD IN THE CIVIL SERVICE

Ogun State Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro has said that the government will revisit the giving out of awards to categories of workers who are diligent in their duties to boost their morale.

Dr. Aigoro stated this in Abeokuta while playing host to the management of Gateway News Update accompanied by some of its awardees, noting that workers in the State deserve to be celebrated, based on their contribution to the ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda of the present administration.

The Head of Service commended the initiative of the organisation for recognising hard work, commitment to duties in the public and private sectors.

"I believe it is high time to resuscitate the award system in the Civil Service to further boost the morale of workers for improved productivity. I want to appreciate the management of Gateway News Update for the awards given to our people and to also congratulate all the awardees. You should continue whatever you are doing that makes the newspaper organisation recognise your efforts”, he said.

Aigoro restated the government’s commitment to workers welfare, through training and retraining of its workforce, charging them to be more diligent in the discharge of their duties for the development of the State.

Earlier, the Publisher of the newspaper Evangelist Tunde Omolaolu said the objective of the organisation was to showcase Ogun and her people in all human endeavours through various instruments of the newspaper, while the awards would serve as a reward of excellence to people in the State.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, a retired Permanent Secretary, Tpl. Yetunde Dina and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, Mr. Olu Ola Aikulola appreciated the publisher for the honour bestowed on them.
