The Chief Judge of Ogun State, Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu, has said that the judiciary will continue to ensure the safety of members of staff, villages, and communities within the State judiciary complex, along Kobape.
Justice Dipeolu gave this assurance in Abeokuta at the commissioning of the Judiciary Complex Police Post, stating that the task of Police Officers is to protect and serve the communities.
She urged staff and representatives of the communities to report criminal cases as maximum support would be granted by the Police institution and relevant government channels.
"Most people want security in this world nor liberty. The desire for safety stands against every great and noble enterprise. This administration believes that the judiciary should provide some level of security on its grounds “, Justice Dipeolu said.
The Chief Judge charged Police Officers that would be posted to the Police Post to maintain decorum, respect the court and have regard for the rule of law, as they discharge their duties.
The Speaker, Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olakunle Oluomo represented by his deputy, Mr. Akeem Balogun, pointed out that the Police Post would contribute to the security of the judiciary premises at large.
In his goodwill message, the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Sina Ogungbade, represented by the Director, Public Prosecution in the Ministry, Mr. Bamidele Adebayo assured that everyone at the judicial sector would work hand in hand to support the dispensation of justice in the State.
In his contribution, the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Lanre Bankole, stated that the initiative would bring a cordial relationship between the Police and the Judiciary, noting that the project would give leverage for the coverage of the area adequately.
On his part, the State Controller of Correctional Centre, Mr. Abdul Rasheed Alimi, said cases of escape of suspects within the judiciary premises that had occurred in the past would definitely come to an end while commending the government for its support.
Also speaking, representative of Baales and Obas in the area, the Baale of Itoko, Chief Waheed Ogundimu, commended the initiative of the Chief Judge, stating that the Police Post would have a great impact on the security and safety of residents, adding that the people would not hesitate to report criminal cases at any point in time.
