The Federal Medical Centre, Abeokuta is to partner with Ikenne Local Government for improved healthcare delivery to her people.
Making this known was a Chief Medical Officer at the centre, Dr. Gbolahan FADAHUNSI -SUNMONU, while leading a team of health practitioners from the health institution on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the local Government, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, in his office, at the council secretariat, Ikenne, on Tuesday.
According to him, the Federal Medical Centre shall collaborate with the Local Government to carry out series of surgical operation for her residents.
This will be done through some Resident Doctors that will be posted to the Primary Health Centre at Ikenne Ward 2, along the old Ilisan road.
Speaking further, he said surgeries will be carried out at the health centre, on the following diseases: Hydrocele, Hernia, Cataract and Breast Lumps.
Responding, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, thanked the team for its kind gesture and thoughtfulness in bringing such great opportunity to Ikenne Local Government.
He assured the team that the renovation of the Theatre to be used for the exercise will be carried out within two weeks, and also promised to give necessary support that will make the programme hitch-free.
He also expressed appreciation to the President, Ikenne Development Association, Otunba Adedoyin ADESINA, for his association's effort at moving the local government forward.
