Abiodun's aide Urges Professionals To Embrace Ethics, Good Conduct



A Special Adviser to the Governor, Ogun State on Technical Education has called on all professionals to embrace ethics,  good conduct and best practice in their professional callings.   


Professor Joseph Odemuyiwa gave this charge at the maiden conference of National Institute of Office Administrators and Information mannagers (NIOAIM) held at Lead City University, Ibandan.


The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, posited that professional ethics was a global phenomenon that's necessary for success and professional pride. 


He added that  professionals of Medicine, Law, Journalism, Nursing, and Teaching are expected to behave in certain ways or follow specific conducts as laid down by the professional bodies regulating their activities.  


Odemuyiwa, while reiterating the essence of ethics or moral behaviour to professionalism, said professionals should portray the principles of their individual professions, and as such they should represent their professions as free moral agents.


In the same vein, the Vice-Chancellor, Lead City University, Prof. Kabiru Adeyemo, admonished the Office Administrators and Information Managers to play major roles in development of the country.


While calling on them to always provide accurate information for better communication, Prof Adeyemo enjoins the participants to create values for individuals, organisations, communities, and the society generally.


"Office administrators and information managers should play major roles in the development of a nation; provide accurate information for better communication that would create values for individuals, organisations, communities and societies," he implored. 


The dignitaries present at the conference included  Prof. Jide Owoeye,  Pro-Chancellor, Lead City University, who doubled as Chairman, Board of Trustees NIOAIM,  Prof. Abel Idowu Olayinka,  immediate past V-C, University of Ibadan,  Dr.  Tolulope Erinosho Adenekan,  Head,  Department of Information Management, Lead City University, doubled as NIOAIM president,  Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa,  special adviser to Ogun state government on Technical Education,  Prof.  Bunmi G.  Alegbeleye, professor of Information Resources, Management, Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State and others.
