The Director-General, Ogun State Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP), Dr. Adesina Olanloye has assured that the agency will strengthen procurement activities for transparency and judicious spending of public funds in line with international best practices.

 Dr. Olanloye gave the assurance during a day training for Secretaries of Procurement Planning Committee in Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government, as well as Local Governments, saying no MDA was empowered to embark on any procurement not included in their Annual Procurement Plan.

The Director-General said the training was aimed at educating secretaries on rules and regulations guiding their operation as stipulated by the Public Procurement Law, noting that “all procuring entities must submit their Annual Procurement Plan to the BPP, detailing every purchase they intend to make in the year”,

He added that BPP would ensure that best buying decisions were made in the interest of the State government and citizens by extension, charging the Secretaries to adhere strictly to procurement rules and regulations while discharging their official duties.  

          In his address, the Director, Digital Procurement in the Bureau, Mr. Ayomikun Akinbode charged participants on Procurement Plan Template (PPT) and guidelines that must be followed while carrying out their duties.

In their separate reactions, Mrs. Olasimbo Olayinka from the Ministry of Environment and Mrs. Grace Sonde, Bureau of Electrical Engineering Services, appreciated BPP for the training, saying it would help them discharge their duties effectively.
