SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS URGED TO COMPLY WITH GOVERNMENT’S DIRECTIVE

 

Teaching and non-teaching staff in Ogun State secondary schools have been admonished to adhere to the directive of the government, particularly on the signing of undertaking forms by parents and students.


The Chairman Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) Evang.  Olalekan Ifede made this known during an inspection visit to some schools in Remo and Abeokuta by the management and board members of the Commission, noting that failure to comply, would attract sanctions.


Ifede stated that the act of indiscipline in schools was rampant and the present administration has considered it necessary to come up with plans to address the anomalies in schools and discipline erring students who are fond of causing mayhem in school premises.


He added that it was vital for teachers to reciprocate government's gesture through hard work and commitment to the discharge of their duties, advising them to always dress well.


In his remark, the Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Dr. Abdulwaheed Olanloye commended the school managements on their conduct, for the resumption of 2021/2022 academic session, charging them to devote more time to academic duties, in order to improve standard of education in the State.


Responding, the Principals of Ajiborode secondary school, Mr. Tovio Joseph lauded the present administration for its determination to uplift the sector to an enviable position in the country.


Schools visited include, Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Iperu, Isara Secondary School, Isara, Methodist Comprehensive High School, Ago-Iwoye, Ajiboyede Comprehensive High School, Ibara Orile, Abeokuta North, Ansar-ud-deen Grammar School, Isaga Orile, Eyinni Comprehensive High School Iboro and Oluaso High School Imasayi.
