The Ogun State Government says it is concerned about even distribution of human and material resources that will enable it realise the agenda on the provision of qualitative and affordable health care delivery.
Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker, made this known during a courtesy visit to the Palace of Ajalorun of Ijebu-Ife, Oba Adesesan Oguntayo, at Ijebu-Ife, Ijebu-East Local Government Area.
Coker noted that it was imperative to clear the air and explain why the State government would distribute the Intensive and Critical Care equipment donated by Czech Republic to General Hospitals across the three Senatorial Districts of the State, saying the equipment would make health care services closer to the people.
She said part of the equipment would be moved to Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, and some other State hospitals, adding that government would not relent in making health care accessible to the people at the grassroots.
"The government is committed to the critical care of our people, and we will do everything possible to achieve giant strides in the health sector. What is important is getting the donors to donate the equipment and the mission of the donor is to make an impact in the lives of the people. It is therefore imperative to distribute the equipment to the hospital where it will be judiciously used, ", Coker said.
Responding, Oba Oguntayo, said the decision of the government in transferring the equipment was well received, pointing out that it had done necessary justification in the distribution process.
Also speaking, the Chief Medical Director of the General Hospital, Dr. Olufemi Osisanmi appreciated the Monarch and the people of the community for their understanding and cooperation at all times.
