OGUN COMMISSIONER TASKS STAFF ON EFFICIENT SERVICE DELIVERY

The Ogun State Commissioner for Rural Development, Engr. Taiwo Oludotun, has charged the management and staffers of the Ministry to be more committed to their duties and display loyalty to the present administration in the new year.

This admonition was given today in Abeokuta during a prayer session held to usher in the first working day in the new year, saying it was in line with the spirit of putting God first, being one of the secrets to achieving success in life.

Oludotun noted that diligence to work in various areas of specialisation would help government actualise its ‘ISEYA’ mantra to further spur development.

He urged the staffers to shun frivolous activities that could deter them from performing their duties effectively, assuring that their welfare would always be given priority in the new year.

"It is not a joke to pay what some of us call ordinary salary. This present government is working hard to ensure prompt payment of your entitlement even when the Federal Government allocation is not enough. Some States have backtracked on the minimum wage, but thank God the Omoluabi nature of our Governor has made him keep his words and let’s continue to do our bids to complement government’s efforts", Oludotun stated.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the State Governor on Rural Development, Princess Olapeju Shote, appreciated the staff for the cooperation in the past years, calling on them to sustain the mutual relationship that has been existing in the Ministry for it to record more feats.

According to Shote, “life is a journey, each staff should see every assignment given to him or her as his own contribution to the development of Ogun State, as better days are ahead”,

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr. Adetunji Kanimodo, advised the staff to be proactive and hard working in the discharge of their duties in the new year.

Kanimodo pointed out that management enjoyed their cooperation in the past years, saying that with them the Ministry would continue to excel among its peers.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Programme Coordinator Ogun State Rural Agriculture Access and Marketing Programme, (RAAMP), Engr. Muritala Adekunle, and Programme Manager, Ogun State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (RUWASTAN), Mr. Sola Ogunbo, represented by the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Kayode Akinwande, commended the Ministry for its giant strides, assuring that they would not relent in complementing government’s efforts in the new year.
