Information Officers in the Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy have been reminded to live up to expectation in projecting government activities effectively.
The Director of Information, Strategy, in the Ministry, Mr. Lanre Ogunyinka who gave the admonition at the Governor's Office Press Center, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, during the weekly statutory meeting of Information Officers, said the role of information dissemination could not be overemphasised.
Ogunyinka pointed out that the public should be adequately informed about the present administration’s policies and programmes, advising them to uphold the ethics of the profession, and come up with renew resolution and readiness to surpass expectations in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities.
" This new year comes with lots of expectations. I am sure that we cannot let the government down in any way since our role as Information Officers is significant and can be seen as the life-wire of the success of government.
"It is expected of us to uphold professionalism at all times in the discharge of our duties without dropping the ball. Let us guard our loins, as we guide our tongues. The management will do all that is needed to make you more comfortable in the discharge of your duties", Ogunyinka said.
Other management staff present include, Directors of Information, Production Services, Planning, Research and Statistics, Public Enlightenment and ICT & New Media, Messer Waheed Adesina, Sam Oyeleye, Seyi Oladimeji and Mrs. Kemi Ewedairo-Yussuf, as well as Deputy Directors of Information in the Ministry.
