It was hope renewed for women in the thirteen wards of Ijebu-North Local Government Area of Ogun State as more women benefited from the empowerment programme of the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi.

Speaking at the presentation of the gifts to beneficiaries, Talabi said the gesture was in furtherance of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration's commitment to genuinely improve the livelihood of women in the State.

Presenting cash gifts to the beneficiaries, Talabi said " this is the second phase of our financial intervention for women towards boosting their economic power and this is the mandate of the Governor to all of us working with him and here in Ijebu-North, we are already doing it”.

The SSG hinted that the Women leaders in the 13 wards had been selected for the empowerment program so that they could also build a common ground to empower others, noting that more of such initiative had been conceived towards providing democratic dividends to the people.

Speaking on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mrs. Adenike Akeusola who is also a Women Leader in Ijebu-North Local Government Area appreciated the Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and the SSG for the gesture, describing it as an initiative that had restored their hope in government, pledging unflinching support to the present administration.

Meanwhile, the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi has also donated a brand-new Toyota Corolla Saloon car to Mr. Sanni Rasaq, as part of his empowerment initiative, maintaining that the beneficiary had demonstrated leadership and uprightness in character towards stabilising the polity of Ijebu-North Local Government Area.

Sanni expressed delight that the Governor and the SSG had kept their promise of rewarding hard work and uplifting the indigent in the society.

“We will continue to work assiduously for the success of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, because it is truly all-inclusive, serving the people without prejudice”, he said.
