In the just inaugurated parents club of Abeokuta Grammar School, a decision took place in sponsoring the payment for ID card for 70 students.
The Chairman ABEO Parent Club Mr. Shoneye made this know during the first Executive meeting at the school premise in Idi-Aba, Abeokuta.
He said the decision which was unanimously taken by all the ABEO Parent club Executives members is aimed at assisting some students who were unable to pay for the ID card fee, adding that a good leader must be able to put it's members first in any policy statement that would have direct impact on their lives and its members.
"In all our doings as the elected executives of the great school Abeokuta Grammar School, we should always put God first as well as taking decisions that will have direct impact on the lives of the students and parents, as a good leader must be able to put it's members first in every policy statement". Shoneye said.
He said that it is very imperative that parents should take full responsibility of their children, adding that government alone cannot shoulder all challenges in the education sector, he added that the executives would not relent at making sure that it contribute it's own quota to the growth and development of education in the State.
Speaking earlier, the Principal of ABEO Junior School, Mr. Mate Anthony while inaugurating the executives said the School Parents Club Association came as an instruction from the State Government, saying that the step is part of government effort at strengthening the parents towards a meaningful participation in the State education sector and in the lives of their children.
