Stakeholders have been charged to encourage and position youths in the State, to enable them fit into leadership roles and responsibilities, as they are the leaders of tomorrow.
The Ogun State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo stated this in his speech at the 2021 Odun Omo Igammode Day, with the theme-' Culture, a Module for Sustainable Leadership', at Ansar-ud-deen Comprehensive College, Ota.
Taiwo stated that the theme for the celebration was apt and of great importance in relation to present requirements in nation building, adding that culture could influence the course of human progress and has a symbolic relationship with sustainable development.
On his part, the Olota of Ota-Awori Kingdom, Oba Adeyemi Obalanlenge, described the festival as one that reminds the people of their origin and as an essential component for stimulating communal understanding, love, unity and for augmenting steady progress, peace and development of the larger community, stressing the continued support of the people to the government of the day.
In his speech, Chairman, Iganmode Central Planning Committee, Mr. Ayodele Bankole stated that the theme for the year's event seeks to address and identify the synergy between cultural heritage and its influence to drive communal and personal efforts at building sustainable leadership in the society, commending the present administration in the State in making the festival the primus inter pares for tourism and culture in the State.
