OPIC IS SELF SUSTAINING, NOT DEPENDENT ON GOVT. FOR FUNDS-MD

The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor and Managing Director, Ogun State Property Investment Corporation (OPIC), Arc. Abiodun Fari-Arole has disclosed that his Agency is self-sustaining and does not rely on the government in funding its developmental projects.

Fari-Arole said this in Abeokuta, while speaking with OGIS correspondent, saying the Corporation generates its own income through the sale of residential and industrial estates built across the country.

He stated that the various OPIC estates built across the State had opened up more economic growth, noting it had also catered for other public needs, such as schools, hospitals, pipe borne water, electricity, security stations and well laid drainage channels.

The Special Adviser who said that apart from building estates, the Agency also sells lands and provides consultancy services to people, disclosed that its investment drive was mostly targeted at medium and high-income earners who could make their payment outrightly or on mortgage and installment basis.

Highlighting that some projects such as the King Court Phase I, Oke-Mosan had been completed, and awaiting commissioning by the Governor, Fari-Arole added that the kings Court Phase II, Oke-Mosan and Warewa blocks of flats (BOFT Apartments) in Lagos were still on-going.
