Ogun HoS Charges Farmers On Strategic Food Preservation



Farmers in Ogun State have been charged to embrace strategic food preservation in order to prevent rotten farm produce which could reduce their profits and dampen their morales.


The Ogun State Head of Service, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, who gave the charge while playing host to the management team of the Ogun State Agro-Services Corporation, on a courtesy visit to his office at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, said that government was ready to collaborate with them to achieve success in the State.


Dr. Aigoro reminded the corporation of its mandate to support farmers across the State with imputs and mechanisation to improve their production, urging them to find ways of blocking leakages, saying all hands must be on deck to deliver the mandate of making Ogun State the food basket of the nation.


"The Government believe you can do it better, that's why your board is there. Please, assist to get agriculture right and let's put a stop to rotten farm produce all over. Find a way to preserve them from perishing. Strategic food preservation should be embraced to stop the leakages which are not good for the morale of farmers" the HoS said.


Speaking earlier, the leader of the group, Mr. Lanre Adeyinka, appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for the appointment of Dr. Aigoro as the new Head of Service, saying that they have keyed into various government programmes that would turn around agriculture in the State.


In another development, the Head of Service has called on the Muslim faithful to continue praying and supporting the government in order to deliver dividends of democracy to the citizenry.


Dr. Aigoro who stated this when the  Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at of Nigeria, Ogun State Circuit visited him, asked the group to be a shinning example of what Muslims should be and offer pieces of advice where necessary to move the State forward.

Speaking earlier, the President of the Circuit, Dr. Nosirudeen Bello said the visit was to familiarise and felicitate one of their own on his appointment, to strengthen the relationship with government officials and to spread the message of peace and love among the faithful.
