The Ogun State Ministry of Transportation has constituted a Task Force on traffic enforcement to manage traffic, reduce constant crashes and gridlocks caused by motorist, especially drivers of articulated vehicles on the corridors of Abeokuta-Sagamu and Ijebu-Ode/Epe Highway.
A release signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Engr. Gbenga Dairo, indicated that the membership of the Task Force, which have been drawn from Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Motor Traffic Division, Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) and Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) will begin operation on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.
The release stated that the Task Force is to prosecute erring road users, for offences which Motorists may be booked include: driving dangerously, over speeding, wrongful over taking, driving under the influence of alcohol, use of Mobile phone while driving, lane indiscipline, among others.
It enjoined members of the public to cooperate with officials of the Task Force, as they seek to ensure free flow of traffic especially during the festive season.
