No fewer than I500 constituents have benefitted from free medical checkup organised by Federal Medical Center in collaboration with a member, Federal House of Representatives, Otunba Adewunmi Onanuga, held at Akarigbo's palace, Sagamu.
Addressing participants at the event, Otunba Onanuga noted that the cases of avoidable deaths occasioned by treatable health challenges people suffer from, was among many other reasons she facilitated the medical outreach across Remo constituency, promising to ensure it takes place periodically.
"High blood pressure is a silent killer, many people are suffering from it without knowing which has led to stroke and untimely death, health is known to be wealth, therefore, people should take responsibility to be healthy, always be vigilant and pay attention to your health." She said.
She encouraged them to go for their covid 19 vaccine to follow the trend of science and remain healthy, urging them to take their health serious and seek medical attention whenever the need arises.
The house member reiterated the commitment of the present administration at ensuring a healthy living among the people, admonishing them to continue to support the Dapo Abiodun led administration for more dividends of democracy.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Managing Director, Pure DavisPharm Services, Dr. Gideon Osi, explained that medical outreach was very important to enable the less-priviledged have access to free medical checkup, advising people to avail themselves of the opportunity and know their health status.
Dr. Osi explained that the outreach involves blood pressure test, eye test, random blood sugar test, teeth care, general body anatomy examination among others, saying that those suffering from cataract and other surgery cases have been referred for necessary action and bill to be footed by Hon. Onanuga.
A beneficiary, the Aminisan of Oko, Sagamu, Oba Muftau Adeoye Sanni thanked the organisers for the kind gesture, saying that huge amount used to be spent on medical checkup, which people have been able to do free of charge.
Another beneficiary, Mrs. Ronke Solarin, a trader, described the outreach as excellent and well organised.
