The All Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), Ogun State branch has commended the State Government for the attention given to the education sector, with a promise to remain committed to better service delivery.
The President of the Association, Dr. Ayodele Womiloju, gave the commendation when she led executive members of the association on a courtesy visit to the office of the Ogun State Head of Service in Abeokuta, as part of efforts to felicitate the Head of Service on his appointment as the 18th HoS.
According to her, despite the challenges facing the nation, the government is doing a lot to better the educational system in the State as exemplified in the resuscitation of the office of the Principals-General, resuscitation/upward review of running costs, trainings within and without the State and country, commencement and sustenance of the Digi-classes, as well as allocation of land for ANCOPSS secretariat amongst other feats recorded are all appreciated.
Dr. Womiloju pledged the Principals' continued support and loyalty to the present administration and solicited for more support in the area of insecurity facing the schools in recent times among other requests tabled for immediate attention.
Responding, the Number One Civil Servant in the State, Dr. Nafiu Aigoro, appreciated the association for being a part of the success story in the education sector of the State, and charged them to continue to put in their best to sustain the legacies of the educational founding fathers of the State.
Dr. Aigoro also urged them to continue to improve on themselves and adopt new learning techniques in order to ensure that schools are run properly for effectiveness.
Similarly, the Head of Service has called on medical practitioners in the State Service to continue to work assiduously, put in their best at their duty posts and do not undercut their employer.
Dr. Aigoro made the call when the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners (NAGGMDP), Ogun State branch paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.
Dr. Aigoro while appreciating the Prince Dapo Abiodun led government for giving priority attention to the health sector said the medical practitioners should justify government's huge investment by being up and doing in their various facilities and not whisk away patients.
He said for him to succeed as the Head of Service, his own constituency must support and co-operate with him wholeheartedly for efficient service delivery that would in turn lift the State up.
"Support your own who is here now, be met at your duty posts always, cooperate well with me and let people know you are supporting your own. I solicit your support to make people's health improve because it is when they're well and happy that they'll deliver well and this will have a good multiplier effect on the civil service and the society at large", Dr. Aigoro said.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Ahmed Jimoh, said they came for the visit to show support to the Head of Service as he has kindled hope in them that anyone of them can assume the exalted post and to table some prayers before him for attention.
