The Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, is set to partner Ikenne Local Government for improved healthcare delivery.
Making this known is a Consultant Paediatrician at the hospital, Dr. (Mrs.) Abiodun RUNSEWE, while leading a team of final year Medical Students of the institution, on a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of the local government, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE, in his office, at Ikenne, this Monday.
According to her, the hospital shall collaborate with the local government through intervention in identified areas, particularly, Paediatrics.
"A symbiotic relationship that will be mutually-beneficial to both the community and the students, who are on community posting, is about to be established", said Dr RUNSEWE.
She further announced that she will be attending to patients every Wednesdays and Fridays, alongside a Paediatric Registrar, Dr. Tolulope ASARE, at the local government Primary Health Centre, along old Ilisan road, Ikenne Remo.
Responding, the Executive Chairman, Hon. Olusegun OGUNLEYE thanked the hospital management for the kind gesture, as he appreciated their thoughtfulness for bringing such opportunity to Ikenne Local Government.
He assured the team of the council's support towards a successful take-off and sustainance of the programme.
The Vice Chairman, Ikenne Local Government, Hon. Bolanle FAKOYA; and Primary Health Care Coordinator, Ikenne Local Government, Dr. Seun OLUSAN, were in attendance during the visit.
