In an effort to make roads motorable for its citizens, the Ogun State government has commenced construction and reconstruction of over 46 roads across the three Senatorial Districts in Ogun State, Special Adviser to the Governor on Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Babatunde Adesina, has disclosed.
Engr. Adesina who made the disclosure at a programme in Abeokuta, said, “some roads will be completed before the end of this year and these roads include; Adatan-Asero, Panseke-Adigbe, first phase of Kemta- Somorin roads among others”.
Adesina stated that Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration placed priority on road infrastructure, hence, the massive construction across the State, reiterating government’s commitment to delivering on its electioneering promises.
According to him, “heavy rain in the last three months has slowed down the pace of work on sites and delayed completion of work, but efforts are on to ensure completion now that the rain is subsiding”.
The Special Adviser also appealed to the people to be patient with the government, as it will not rest on its oars on infrastructure drive to develop the socio-economic growth of the State, stating that Local Government authorities will be charged to embark on grading of some roads in their localities, with the aim of easing hardship being faced by the people.
Adesina mentioned some of the roads under construction to include; Abeokuta- Sagamu, Panseke- Adigbe, Kemta- Somorin in Ogun Central, Atan- Lusada- Agbara, Ilaro- Owode, Oke Ola road, Imeko, in Ogun West, as well as Oba Erinwole Road Sagamu, Ijebu- Ode-Atan Road, Molusi College Road, Ijebu Igbo in Ogun East Senatorial District among others.
