The Ogun State Government has highlighted the essence of training and retraining for Town Planners, on new technologies and concepts in the built sector for better productivity.
Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Yetunde Dina stated this in Abeokuta, at a 2-day workshop, organised for Town planners in the State.
Dina noted that keeping abreast of new technologies would enable Town Planners conform to good ethical behaviour for a better result, saying "work basis is not static but dynamic, as there has been introduction of new technologies, ideas and concepts, you need to be abreast of these new developments, to enhance your job”.
In his presentation, the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Planning and Development Permit Authority, Tpl. Abayomi Ogun said it is imperative for Town Planners to discharge their responsibilities ethically for improved productivity.
In his presentation, a guest Lecturer from Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY) Tpl. Adebola Adelaja explained that physical planning is essentially concerned with the orderly and efficient use of space which directly influences the outcomes of human activities.
Speaking on behalf of other participants, Tpl. Ayoola Ololade appreciated the State government for the training, saying it was an opportunity to gain more knowledge, in order to perform better in their profession.
