Comrade Sowunmi Olarenwaju also known as LASEM Is one of the  grassroots politicians in Abeokuta South local government and  Ogun State general. He  has also contributed to humanity and empowered several  people in the local government.

In a chat with our Correspondent, he gave hint on the reason he decided to  run for the post of house of assembly in Ogun State and how he will compliment the efforts of Governor Dapo Abiodun of elected.

Q: Can we meet you sir? 

A:  I am comrade Sowunmi Olanrewaju Popularly known as LASEM 

Q: What do you do for a living?

 A: Am a civil servant , am working with ogun state government, am also a unionist, am the state trustee of Nigeria civil service union affiliated to NIGERIA LABOUR CONGRESS

Q: Why did you decide to run for the post of the house of Assembly in 2023?

A:  For me to decide to run for the post, is not a day dream though,  because I have been having it in mind since the  elective post should be occupied by grassroots people, that's what can save us and I am a grassroots politician

Q: How long have you been Into politics? 

A:  I started active politics since 1998.  I have  contested for Councilorship during Otunba Gbenga Daniel administration, as a grassroot man, who knows problem of his people, I believe I will know where to start with them.  I believe I will be d best representative from abeokuta south so far.

Q: What should the people expect from you if eventually you are elected?

 A: I will make sure I have good relationship with the governor so as to facilitate laudable project into my constituency

Also, the empowerment of our  people is important, if some of our women receive little money for empowerment, it will increase their standard of living

 Getting job for our youths need  to be considered, as a civil Servant, I know how to go from one ministry to another so as to know where there's vacancy,  every legislative member have access to the constituency project, I will make sure that my projects will meet the needs of our people

Q: It is a general belief that many  politicians are into politics for their selfish interest, what is your take on that? 

A: Going back to the history , those who are into politics for self interest,  majority of them are foreigners, they believe they are in business, when they enrich themselves, they will travel back to their destination unlike people like me, I have no where to run to, my family is here, therefore, I must take my people as my  priority

Q: Do you think you can win on the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC?

A: With our silence achiever governor 

No political party can defeat APC in ogun state
