President Muhammadu Buhari has disclosed that certain high profile Nigerians have been identified as sponsors of Pro-Secession agitators, Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Igboho.
It was recall that Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB was arrested earlier this year in Kenya and has been in DSS custody, while Igboho who leads the Yoruba Nation agenda, is in prison custody in Benin Republic.
In his Independence Day speech on Friday, the President revealed that investigations into the activities of both men has yielded a lot of information.
He said: “The recent arrests of Nnamdi Kanu and Sunday Adeyemo, and the ongoing investigations being conducted have revealed certain high-profile financiers behind these individuals.”
“We are vigorously pursuing these financiers including one identified as a serving member of the national assembly.”
