The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has approved the release of appointment letters to the first batch of Ogun Teaching Experience Acquisition Channel (OGUN TEACH) candidates.
The Chairman Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Evang. Olalekan Ifede who disclosed this in Abeokuta, during a press conference said the appointment letters would be distributed in batches, noting that the first batch of the candidates who were sent messages were selected base on their performance at the last Computer Base Test and Oral interview.
Ifede said that OGUN TEACH programm is meant to accommodate five thousand additional teachers into the mainstream of the teaching profession, adding that the step would reduce the workload of teachers that were currently on ground.
"Our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun is a promise fulfilling Governor, as majority of the public never believe the success of today will come to reality but to all doubting Thomas, appointment letters is issued to many beneficiaries of the Ogun Teach. The appointment letters will be distributed in batches to all selected candidates until we reach the 5,000 successful candidates across the State". Ifede said.
He noted that successful candidates would be posted to the Teaching Service Commission, SUBEB, and the technical colleges across the State to serve for two years, adding that the exercise would be a continuous process.
Speaking, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile, said the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun would not make a promise and not fulfill it, stressing that no stone would be left unturned when it comes to the development of education in the State.
In her response one of the beneficiaries, Miss. Fosu Doris Oluwatosin said at first, she has lost hope, appreciating the State Government for making good his promise to the successful candidates across the State, promising not to disappoint the government on the confidence repose in her.
