OGSG URGES WORKERS TO BE EFFICIENT, AS PS INFORMATION BOWS OUT OF SERVICE



        The Ogun State Government has urged Civil and Public Servants to always put in their best while in active service, to enable government achieve its policies and programmes for the development of the State.


          Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Alhaji Waheed Odusile said this in Abeokuta at a farewell programme organised in honour of the retiring Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Alhaji Abiodun Awere, noting that workers should be efficient in the discharge of their duties up to the time of retirement.


          Odusile described him as a diligent and committed Accounting Officer, who had contributed to the upliftment of the Ministry, commending his passion, devotion, integrity and dedication to work.


          On her part, the Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun said the retiring Permanent Secretary was hard working and committed to “doing things right always within a short notice”, adding that the State Civil Service would miss his wealth of experience.


          In their separate farewell messages, the Permanent Secretaries in the Ministry of Rural Development, Mr. Tunji Kanimodo and his counterpart from the Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, retired Permanent Secretaries, Mr. Tokunbo Williams and Alhaji Abdulfatai Opebiyi said Awere was a humble, honest, sincere and a thorough bred professional.


          Adding their voices, the Chairman, Board of Ogun State Television, Com. Tunde Oladunjoye, General Manager, Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan, the Acting General Manager, Ogun State Television, Mr. Tunde Kassim, a retired Director in the Ministry, Mr. Ayo Oluyemi and the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Information Chapel, Com. 'Wale Olanrewaju eulogised  the retiring Permanent Secretary for his immense contribution to the progress of the Ministry and welfare of members of staff.


          In his welcome address, the Director of Information, Strategy, Mr. Lanre Ogunyinka appreciated the retiring Permanent Secretary for transforming and uplifting the face of the Ministry since assumption of office as the Accounting Officer.


          Appreciating the gesture, Awere thanked the staffers of the Ministry for their support and loyalty, while returning all the glory to the Almighty Allah for making him who he has become in the State's Civil Service.


          Highlights of the event were drama and presentation of gift to the retiring Permanent Secretary.
