Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has warned the club ahead of their Premier League clash against Liverpool on Sunday.
Scholes was particularly disappointed by the performance of Manchester United players in the first half of their 3-2 win over Atalanta in the Champions League on Wednesday.
It was Cristiano Ronaldo’s late strike that won the game for the home side after Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire had levelled for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.
Atalanta went into the break with two goals advantage having taken the lead through Mario Pasalic and Merih Demiral.
Asked if the win was worth celebrating, Scholes told BT Sport, “Celebrating? Well, you celebrate every win but just that the first half worried me.
I look at that game thinking about Liverpool on Sunday…if you do that against Manchester City or Liverpool, in half-time, you’ll be 3 or 4-0 down and you’ll be out of the game. You’re not coming back.
“Go and do that against Liverpool on Sunday, see what happens.
“Imagine Jurgen Klopp watching that at home, rubbing his hands together.”
