The Kano state Government has described as ‘fake news’, reports that the Governor’s wife, Hafsat was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
It was recall that the it was widely reported on Tuesday that Mrs. Hafsat Ganduje was arrested over a bribery and land fraud case reported by her son.
It was learned that Mrs Ganduje had earlier been invited to report to the EFCC’s Abuja headquarters on September 13 but did not appear and then the commission threatened to arrest her.
The report claimed that Mrs. Ganduje was grilled by EFCC officials and was still at their office as at 6a.m on Tuesday morning.
However, a statement made available and signed by the senior special assistant to Governor Ganduje on Social Media, Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, the report was ‘False’.
“Imagine, Fake News all over.”
“The Governor travelled to Abuja for a meeting with his wife as usual and he’s already back today morning to preside the State Executive Council meeting, while Her Excellency is attending an empowerment program in the State too.”
