Liverpool legend, Jamie Carragher, has backed Leicester City coach, Brendan Rodgers, to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield when the German eventually leaves the club in the future.
Klopp replaced Rodgers at Liverpool in 2015, but the Northern Irishman’s reputation has soared after spells at Celtic and Leicester City.
Rodgers nearly guided Liverpool to their first Premier League title since 1990, but a disappointing end to the 2013-14 campaign saw them pipped by Manchester City.
But Carragher, who played under Rodgers for a year at Liverpool, believes the door could be open for a return when Klopp eventually leaves the club.
“I am a huge fan of Brendan Rodgers and think he’s a brilliant manager, I really do,” Carragher told Sky Sports about Rodgers.
“I have worked with him for 12 months at Liverpool and I think this job came too early for him.
“If Jurgen Klopp was to leave Liverpool tomorrow, Brendan Rodgers would be top of the list.”
