PEACE, UNITY, COOPERATION, PANACEA FOR ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT

 


Peace, unity and cooperation have been described as necessities for speedy growth and development of any community that is aspiring to stand out among others.


The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun revealed this in Ifo Local Government Area, during the installation and presentation of Staff of Office to the new Olofin of Isheri, Oba Bamgbade Adekunle, imploring the people to accord the new monarch maximum support for accelerated development of their land.


Represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuape, the Governor enjoined Oba Bamgbade to see his appointment as a call to service and an opportunity to contribute his quota to the progress of the town and the growth of commerce and agriculture.


He charged the new monarch to mobilise his people towards complementing the present administration's effort, urging him to be a father to his subjects irrespective of their social and religious inclinations.


In her address, Executive Chairman in the Local Government, Hon. Kikelomo Delano congratulated the Oba, assuring that the council authority would provide necessary backing and recognition to traditional council in the area. 


She added that security of lives and property, among other dividends of democracy would be given utmost attention. 


In their separate remarks, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan, represented by Alara Oodaye of Araland, Ife, Oba Dr. Adebisi Layade and Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, represented by Akogun of Egbaland, High Chief Adebayo Soyoye, both felicitated the new monarch and prayed for his long reign with meaningful development across his domains.  


In his acceptance speech, Oba Bamgbade appreciated the Governor for giving his approval, which brought him to the throne of his forefathers, assuring that he would work in collaboration with the indigenes of Isheri, home and in diaspora to harness the resources of the town for the betterment of the citizens.
