In recognition of his strides, especially through the spread of projects to grassroot level, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has received Award of Excellence from Olokine of Ojowo in Ijebu North local government area, Oba Abdulrasheed Banjo to make 2021 Olokine Day.
The governor, who was represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, appreciated the monarch for deeming it fit to recognize government's effort at ensuring the spread of democratic dividends to the nooks and crannies of the State.
"On behalf of the government and good people of the State, I want to thank the Kabiyesi for this award, for recognizing our effort at developing grassroot, in the area of employment, agriculture and renovation of schools", he said.
During the presentation, Oba Abdulrasheed Banjo said the community decided to honour the governor for the released of 200 hectares of land for anchor borrower, establishment of the an additional microfinance bank and renovation of four schools in the area.
Receiving the award along side the governor are the secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, who received the award on good governance and the Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Adeola Odedina, who received Award on excellent service in employment generation through agriculture, among others.
In his vote of thanks, the Chairman, Ijebu-North Local Government, Mr. Bolaji Odunsanya congratulated the Kabiyesi on the second year in office and, assuring of the council's commitment towards the development of Ijebu-North at large.
