Buhari asked to dialogue with Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB

A sociopolitical group, the World Igbo Peoples Assembly (WIPAS) has asked the President Muhammadu Buhari led federal government to dialogue with the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to douse the tension and agitations in the east.

The group in a statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Chinonyerem Dick, on Monday, claimed the ghost of Biafra has refused to disappear due to the way the issue is being handled by the President and some leaders in Nigeria.

WIPAS noted that if federal government dialogues with Kanu and IPOB, a common ground can be reached.

The Igbo organization lamented the structural marginalization of ndigbo, which manifests in the number of states and local governments in the country.

“All federal ministries and agencies have been flooded by Fulani people and all key government positions occupied by them. How can this lead to peace and unity, “WIPAS queried?

Meanwhile, the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations of Nigeria (COCSON), has slammed the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), for allegedly being a den of corruption itself.

The Coalition accused officials of the anti-graft commission of doing away with recovered looted funds and properties, alleging that EFCC takes bribes from looters and allows them go scot-free.

COCSON said, “That is why looters are now in the national assembly and in government continuing to loot.

The group claimed that the Buhari led federal government is not actually fighting any corruption, alleging that once a looter joins the APC his sins are forgiven.

The Coalition, however, called on Nigerians to save Nigeria from vampires presently ruling her.
