YNLG CHAIRMAN APPEALS FOR CORDIAL EXECUTIVE, LEGISLATURE RELATIONSHIP

The Chairman, Yewa North Local Government, Hon. Gabriel Ogunyomi has underscored cordial executive and legislature relationship as necessities for rapid socio-economic development of the Council.

Ogunyomi stated this during the inauguration of nineth Legislature of the Council held at the Senator Odebiyi Legislative Chamber, Ayetoro where he enjoined the Legislators to come up with lofty ideas to better the lots of the people of the Council.

The Chairman expressed confidence that if the cordial relationship between the two arms of government wax stronger it would translate into Infrastructural, educational and socio-economic development of the Council.

He reaffirmed the fulfilment of all his electioneering campaign promises and would take the Council to the highest pedestal and make it regain its leading position in all human endeavors.

Meanwhile, the Clerk of the Council, Mr Abiodun Adeogun called for nomination for the position of the Leader, while the Councillor representing Idofoi Ward, Hon Waheed Adeyeri norminated Hon. representing Imasai Ward, Hon Taiwo Obadina and seconded by Hon. representing Ijoun Ward, Hon Ibidele Olaleye and supported by the whole House through a voice vote.

Oaths and Allegiance of office were administered on the elected Leader of the Council and later conducted the election of other principal officers include Deputy Leader, Councillor representing Ebute Ward, Hon. Stephen Adeogun.

Others were, Majority Leader, Councillor representing Idofoi Ward Hon Waheed Adeyeri, Chief Whip, Councillor representing Eggua, Hon. (Miss) Iyabode Akinrole.

Seven other Councillors, Hon Saidi Ahmed Ward 2, Hon Waheed Mustaph Ward 3, Hon. Isiaka Ogundele Joga/Iboro Ward, Hon Kayode Olaleye Sunwa Ward, Hon Ibidele Olaleye and Hon Samuel Akinde on whom Oaths and Allegiance of Office were administered  by the Leader.

In his acceptance speech, the Leader, who lauded the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun for his moral and financial support during the election, urged members to remain resolute to make the Council regain its well-known high standard in all human endeavors,  pledging that members would always hold the people of their constituency in high esteem.

The event witnessed the presence of political stalwarts, career officers, youths, religious leaders, community leaders and representative of trade unions among other well wishers.
