The Ogun State Bureau of Information Technology (IT), in collaboration with Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), Ogun State chapter, STEAMAcad and Omo-Iye Foundation is organising a 2-week summer coaching break for students in primary and secondary schools across the 20 Local Government Areas (LGA) of the State.
In a release signed by the Director IT, Mrs. Olatundun Adekunte, indicated that the coaching was to develop students’ interest and help them in Digital Literacy, Basic Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).
The release stated that the coaching will teach them Web development and design, Graphics Design, Binary and Algorithms, to help the students to develop IT core skills and introduce them at a later date to opportunities, which include National Under-17 ICT Competition by New Horizons Nigeria, Tecnovation Girls Competition, Cowbell Mathematics Competition and many more.
It also added that scheduled coaching into the first stream would commence between Tuesday, August 17 to Tuesday, 31, 2021 at the Ogun Tech Hub, beside President Muhammadu Buhari Estate, Kobape, Abeokuta, while second stream holds between Tuesday, August 24 to Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at CKC House Study Centre, 57 Ijoko road, Sango-Ota.
