The Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has charged the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), to continue to promote excellence and professionalism among its members.
Engr. Salako-Oyedele gave the charge at Onikan, Lagos State during the investiture of Mr. Taiwo Owokalade as the 28th President/Chairman of the Institute, saying the Institute is a hub of professionals, capable of enhancing corporate governance and administration in the country.
The Deputy Governor, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, described the newly elected president as a distinguished indigene of the State with qualities that would further drive the Institute forward.
She added that his rich professional background and pedigree would enable him deliver the mandate of the Institute, urging him to focus more on capacity building through various training and retraining of members, towards achieving the corporate goals of the body and development of its members.
Engr. Salako-Oyedele also enjoined the members to support the new president in order to break new grounds.
Earlier in his speech, the immediate past President of the Institute, Mr. Bode Ayeku, congratulated his successor on his appointment, describing ICSAN as a leading and recognised professional body in Nigeria dedicated to enhancing the status and practice of corporate governance and public administration.
Ayeku noted that the election of the new president was a demonstration of great capacity and outstanding qualities, pledging the support of members for a successful tenure.
In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Mr. Owokalade assured that his tenure would witness reforms on capacity building of members to enhance professionalism, membership drive and revenue generation, adding that the corporate goals of the body would be vigorously pursued.
