The Ogun State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has begun the campaign for the registration of six-year-old children into public primary schools across the State.
Leading the campaign team to some markets and parks in Abeokuta, Commissioner in charge of the Minisitry, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu and SUBEB Chairman, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi highlighted the need for parents and guardians to enroll their children for the basic education programme.
Arigbabu said the free education programme of the government will allow children access qualitative and affordable education, regardless of the financial status of their parents, adding that registration of wards in schools of their choice would commence next Monday.
Let us endeavour to take our six-year old children to a nearby public primary school for free registration into primary one class. Education is important in life, that is why our Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun made everything ready for our children to enjoy good teaching and quality learning in our schools", Arigbabu said.
On his part, Dr. Majekodunmi reiterated government’s efforts in making education accessible for all and sundry, pointing out that the yellow roof revolution is one of the major commitment of the present administration in the State, to move the education sector forward.
Contributing, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Abosede Ogunleye and SUBEB Secretary, Mr. Olalekan Kuye revealed that conducive environment , qualified teachers, infrastructure and facilities were in place for efficient teaching and learning activities.
