The Ogun State Government has revealed that it is putting in place dynamic physical and urban development plan, where more access roads would be created with defined areas for schools, hospitals markets and other necessary basic amenities.
Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, who said this in his office in Abeokuta, during a visit by the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, added that the step would help enhance and improve the serenity of the environment in Ogun State.
Odunlami pointed out that the State Government is taking steps to ensure any structure that contravenes building regulations is not given approval, adding that the Ministry would not allow issue of haphazard development jeopardise the order and sanity which the government intends to establish in the physical and urban development plan.
‘’The Ministry will ensure that people build right and follow requisite building laws and regulations in the State before their properties can be certified for regularisation, to avoid inconsistency and ensure discreet endorsement of physical development’’, he said.
Earlier in his remark, the Chairman, Nigerian Institute of Town Planners, Lagos State Chapter, Tpl. Ayo Adejumo commended the Ministry for the success recorded in physical development, soliciting for a better working relationship between the State government and his Chapter.
