The Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun has described the disposition of Organised Labour in the State as cordial, through its regular consultation and dialogue which has assisted the government on labour-related matters.
Alhaja Ottun, who gave this description in Abeokuta, at the State Delegate Conference of the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC) Ogun State chapter, with the theme; ‘The Nigeria Economic and Security Challenges: The Role of Organised Labour’, said the cooperation and support received from the Union had contributed to the tremendous achievements recorded in the State civil service.
She emphasised the need for the Union to always come up with initiatives that would further help the present administration improve on democratic process, good governance and protection of people’s interest.
“I specially appreciate the Organised Labour for your cooperation and support over the years. Your regular consultation and dialogue have been cordial and wonderful, we always reach a logical and mutually benefitting resolutions", Alhaja Ottun said.
The HoS commended workers for being in the forefront of sustaining the developmental strides and implementation of Governor Dapo Abiodun-led government’s policies and programmes, assuring that the government would continue to put their interest on the front burner.
Earlier in her remark, the Conference Chairman, Comrade Oyinkan Olasanoye appreciated the Organised-Labour and government for establishing good working relationship and adopting modern-day negotiation strategies, saying the relationship had contributed to the socio-economic development of the State.
In his address, the outgoing State Chairman of TUC, Comrade Olubunmi Fajobi said the Congress had been able to achieve more through its constructive engagement and ability to build enduring relationship across board, commending the State government for its support and understanding.
