The Chairman, Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi has commended civil servants who seek for self-development by upgrading from their present cadre to a higher/professional cadre, for efficient service delivery.
Engr. Odebunmi said this while fielding questions from newsmen during the conduct of the Public Service examination, which has over one thousand candidates, at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.
The Chairman said that the examination is computer-based, as the State government is taking the exercise beyond paperwork, adding that necessary measures are being put in place to ensure a more conducive environment for capacity building of the State’s workforce.
"I must express my happiness in the crop of civil servants that we have today, as there are some who are not satisfied with their content and want to improve themselves. So, we have to encourage them and that is why we are trying to improve on their efficiency", Odebunmi said.
Earlier, the Permanent Secretary in the Commission, Mr. Kolawole Ogunlana, implored the candidates to be composed and ensure they put in their best during and after the examination.
Responding on behalf of other candidates, Mr. Segun Sogeke and Miss Jokotola Haruna, appreciated the State government for the opportunity in career, promising to be more diligent in their duty posts.
