OGSG PARTNERS GIZ TO CREATE ARTISANS’ JOBS PORTAL

 


The Technical and Vocational Education Board in Ogun State will continue to do the needful to build the capacity of artisans in the State, so as to enable them operate seamlessly in the “global village” that the world is turning into.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa dropped this hint in Abeokuta, at a-day Online Artisans Platform Technical session put together in collaboration with a German Cooperation, Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

To this end, Odemuyiwa disclosed that the Board is teaming up with GIZ to create an online platform for the use of artisans, pointing out that the platform would help find reliable workers who would provide quality services to customers across the country.

 Such platform Odemuyiwa said would boost the blue-collar job, create awareness to sustain business for artisans while making profit, appreciating GIZ for the initiative and assured them that the government would not relent in making technical education more attractive in the State.

Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Board, Mr. Olubori Akinleye said the drive was a well thought out idea, saying it would promote job reliability and professionalism.

In his remarks, Technical Advisor for Employment Promotion, GIZ, Mr. Ibrahim Aliyu assured that his team was ready for skills upgrade, adding that the online artisan platform would create more employment.
