Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, has said Nigeria is on course for a new beginning.
Osinbajo explained that it’s in the nature of God to create new beginnings; hence Nigeria is on course for one, despite all doubts.
The Vice President spoke at the ongoing 25th Annual Convention of the Redeemed Christian Church of God – The Americas, themed: “New Beginning.”
In a statement by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, the Vice President, cited the biblical story of Nathaniel who downplayed the possibility of anything coming out of Nazareth.
The VP stressed that a new beginning awaits Nigeria, despite those doubting if anything good would come out of the country.
According to Osinbajo: “Today, many men are saying the same about our nation Nigeria, even men of God, but this is the textbook case of how God works, He is set to give Nigeria a new beginning.
“In the midst of current travails, the God of new beginnings is about to change our story. He is about to do something new. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
He also noted that a new beginning can only be achieved through the strength of God amid weakness.
God did not create us to be independent of Him, He did not endow us with the strength to succeed without Him. The God of new beginnings did not create us to be self-sufficient. We need Him,” he said
