The Chairman, Sagamu Local Government Hon. Jubril Odulate has called for the support and encouragement of the people for a successful tenure of the newly sworn-in political functionaries in the council.
Hon. Odulate made this call at the inauguration of the newly elected law makers at the council secretariat in Sagamu, enjoining them to see the responsibility as a call to service and solicited the cooperation of both executive and legislature for the overall development of the area.
"I solicit the support of all and sundry to perform their civic responsibilities by paying their taxes and levies promptly to enable us provide more dividends of democracy.
Let me also reiterate that we are in government to serve everybody regardless of any political affiliation, tribe or religion, we are posed to replicating the all-inclusive and open-door policy of the present administration, therefore, I want to call on everyone to join hands with us to collectively actualise the ‘Building our Future Together’ agenda", Odulate said.
In his welcome address, the Clerk of the House, Hon. Olasupo Ogunyanwo urged other members to embrace unity and make purposeful resolutions, bye-laws and budgeting that would be beneficial to the people at the grassroots, admonishing them to remain focused and eschew all forms of rancour.
In his acceptance speech, the Leader of the House, Hon. Ayodele Ojuroye pledged the support of the legislative council to the executive arm to boost its Internally Generated Revenue.
