THE Chairman, Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee, Governor Mai Mala Buni, has urged members of the newly inaugurated Anambra State Governorship Campaign Council, to expedite action on reconciling party members and work as a team to ensure victory for the party in the November 6 election.
Buni gave the charge while inaugurating the almost 100-member strong council, at the APC National Secretariat, in Abuja, on Tuesday.
He explained that members of the committee were carefully selected based on their individual capacities and the party’s confidence that they will collectively deliver the state to the APC
Buni said, “You are enjoined to work as a team and to carry everyone on board. You are also advised to reconcile seeming differences within members of the party which might have arisen following the governorship primary, for us to confront the election with a united front.”
The Yobe State governor enjoined the people of Anambra State to give the party a chance to prove that its candidate has all it takes to take the state to the next level.
Chairman of the Committee who is also the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, while speaking shortly after the event said, “I think the important thing here is that we have been carefully selected to go and talk to the people of Anambra State to market our candidate and to make promises and tell them the programmes the party has for them and also preach to them to understand the need of been a member of a national ruling party and the advantages inherent in such opportunity and to convince our people in Anambra State to vote massively for APC.”
On his part, APC candidate for the election, Senator Andy Uba said, “We are going to do our work, go through all the local governments and wards to make sure that the people hear us.”
Other members of the committee include: All governors elected on the platform of the party, some Senators and members of the House of Representatives, serving Ministers and other party leaders.
