AKARIGBO HINGES COMMUNAL DEVELOPMENT ON MUTUAL COLLABORATION OF INDIGENES

Indigenes of Remoland in Ogun State have been reminded that meaningful socio-economic growth can only be recorded when they collaborate and work together, as a team for the overall development of the kingdom.

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, gave this reminder at an award ceremony put together by the Sagamu chapter of Emuren Development Association.

Oba Ajayi, represented by Onidado of Idado, Oba Oriyomi Soile, emphasised the need for concerted efforts and formidable partnerships among indigenes, to provide infrastructural facilities that would boost business and create employment opportunities.

According to the monarch, government has limited resources which cannot adequately meet the myriad of needs of various communities, therefore it becomes imperative for residents to lend a helping hand to develop their communities for their overall benefit and that of upcoming generations.

Also speaking, a member of the Federal House of Representatives, representing Remo Federal Constituency, Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, promised to support the development of Remo communities, as he said that "development of rural areas is my priority. I will contribute my quota to ensure that they benefit from different Federal Government’s programmes”.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the occasion, High Chief Olootu Bola Taiwo, urged indigenes of Emuren and its environs to support the Elemuren of Emuren, Oba Adesegun Alowonle towards accelerating the development of the community, lauding the provision of street lights donated towards the upliftment of the community.

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman, Emuren Development Association, Prince Tunde Albert described the gesture of conferring awards on deserving indigenes, as a motivation for them to do more and spur others to follow suit.

Speaking on behalf of other awardees, the Otunba Asoludero of Emuren, Mr. Adetola Emmanuel, who was represented by Mrs. Kemi Osude appreciated the organisers of the programme for the honour and recognition, calling on other indigenes to join hands in making the town an investment hub.
