Women Empowerment:Ogun Matriculates 110 Skill Acquisition Trainees
Ogun state governnment says it is committed to women empowerment, to develop indigenous Human Resources, as well as strengthening the vocational skill of our unemployed youths and women in the state.
The commisioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Funmilayo Efuwape stated this at the matriculation ceremony of the year 2020/2021 Skill Acquisition Trainees, held at the Women Development Center, Oke Ilewo, Abeokuta.
The commisioner, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the governor, Hon. Adijat Oladapo said the scheme was aimed at making life more meaningful to itsbeneficiaries by making them self reliant through learning and mastering of a particular skill, thereby enhancing their socio-economic status.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Melutia Ogunremi emphasised that the vision of the agency is to boost the number of employed youths and women through Vocational Skill Acquisition Training, urging the trainees to make judicious use of their timeand opportunity given to them.
Responding on behalf of the Trainees, Miss Doyin Adeyemi, appluaded the state government for its unrelenting efforts on women empowerment, promising to make the best use of the given priviledge.
