SAGAMU LG RENAMES STREET AFTER ANTHONY JOSHUA
Sagamu Local Government Council has renamed the Cinema Road in Sagamu after the unified heavy weight world boxing champion, Anthony Oluwaseni Joshua.
The Sagamu Local Government Transition Chairman, Hon. Gbenga Banjo disclosed this in Sagamu stating that the Cinema Road has now been renamed "Anthony Joshua Way" in honour of Joshua, an indigene of the town.
Hon. Banjo said the Council deemed it fit to immortalize the Joshua family name in order to appreciate the heavy weight champion for his numerous successes which have continued to put Sagamu Local Government Area on the world map.
The Chairman however encouraged youths to be focused and determined in their lawful professions to attain greater heights.
In their acceptance speech, the Joshua family represented by Mrs. Josephine Oyinade Adekoya expressed gratitude to the local government and the present administration in Ogun State for the great honour bestowed on their grandson as well as the entire family by renaming the popular cinema road after the heavyweight world boxing champion.
She however urged the youths not to turn away from exemplary behaviours warning that unpromising behaviours lead to unfavourable effects which can hinder their ability to stand the test of time.
She also admonished them to be united and untiring concentrating their efforts on showing love for one another.
