Wife of Ogun State Governor, Her Excellence, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has promised market women in the state of more loan facilities in the year 2021, to boost their economic power.
This was contained in her Yuletide message to the Iyalojas and market women at a meeting held at the Alake's palace, in Abeokuta, where she said the meeting was long overdue but has to be delayed in order to observe the COVID 19 protocol order.
The First Lady who went in company of the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Funmi Efuwape expressed delight at the level of perseverance of the women despite the economic hardship brought about by the pandemic, affirming that the governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to focus more on granting loans to market women.
She thereafter gave out gift items ranging from cash, clothing and Bags to Rice to the market women, promising to do more by God's grace.
Earlier, the Hon. Commissioner for Women Affairs in her welcome address, appreciated the women for giving their support to Prince Dapo Abiodun led administration, assuring them that the administration has the best interest of the women folk at heart.
Responding, the new Iyaloja of Egba Land, Chief Mrs. Kemi Oloyede expressed her appreciation to the wife of the Governor, for having the market women at heart, assuring that the entire market women would make judicious use of the loan when granted.
Other dignitaries at the event included the Iyaloja of Yews land, chief Mrs. Yemisi Abass and other Iyalojas within the state metropolises.
